Williams II f\u00f6ddes 1943 i Albuquerque i New Mexico. Han blev redan i unga \u00e5r fascinerad av bilar och hot rod-kulturen och fick sin f\u00f6rsta bil som 12-\u00e5ring av sin far. Familjelivet i det Williamska hush\u00e5llet var turbulent och f\u00f6r\u00e4ldrarna gifte sig sammanlagt fyra g\u00e5nger med varandra. Snart flydde Williams konstskoletyrannin (art school tyranny) och s\u00f6kte sig till arbetslivet. Han s\u00f6kte finna sin nisch och arbetade med bland annat att designa containrar f\u00f6r <em>Weyehaeuser Corporation<\/em> och arbetade med konstn\u00e4rlig utformning f\u00f6r <em>Black Belt Magazine<\/em>. Crumb<\/em>, <em>S. Williams <\/em>som gavs ut \u00e5r 1979. Bokens titel var ett st\u00e4llningstagande ang\u00e5ende hur den moderna konsten ans\u00e5gs som &#8221;highbrow&#8221; och hur Williams konst inte passade in i dess ideologier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">P\u00e5 80-talet hittade Williams en ny publik i den intensiva punkr\u00f6relsen. <em>&#8221;Zombie Mystery Paintings&#8221; <\/em>kallas m\u00e5leriet (och \u00e4ven en bok) fr\u00e5n denna period och inspirerade en rad andra konstn\u00e4rer med sin energi, sexighet och v\u00e5ldsamhet. Boken inneh\u00e5ller ocks\u00e5 Williams <em>Rubberneck Manifesto<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8221;Something dead in the street commands more measured units of visual investigation than 100 Mona Lisas!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Williams har sedan gett ut flera b\u00f6cker, hans konst sp\u00e4nner fr\u00e5n zombiesex till kvantmekanik, hans konstutst\u00e4llningar drar fulla hus och hans verk \u00e4r h\u00f6gt eftertraktade. Han har influerat generationer av lowbrow\/underground-konstn\u00e4rer och gett dem en r\u00f6st genom publikationer f\u00f6r alternativ konst som <em>Art? It is my artistic right to render the images of woman as my imagination sees fit. Remember, I will gladly accept the title &#8221;Bad Person&#8221; to continue my expression.
