Ikv\u00e4ll handlade det om en m\u00e5lning av Claude Monet, &#8221;Bords de la Seine \u00e0 Argenteuil&#8221; fr\u00e5n 1875. \u00c4garen; David Joel, som inhandlat tavlan f\u00f6r 40 000 \u00a3 ville g\u00e4rna f\u00e5 bevis p\u00e5 dess \u00e4kthet, d\u00e5 \u00e4kta verk av Monet s\u00e4ljs f\u00f6r tiotals miljoner pund hos auktionsverken. Problemet i sammanhanget var, att f\u00f6r att kunna kallas f\u00f6r \u00e4kta, m\u00e5ste tavlan vara erk\u00e4nd av familjen Wildenstein p\u00e5 Wildenstein Institute och upptas i deras &#8221;catalogues r\u00e1isonn\u00e9s&#8221;, kataloger \u00f6ver \u00e4kta konstverk omfattande 60 konstn\u00e4rer. Allt detta l\u00e4mnades in hos Wildenstein Institute, d\u00e4r man nonchalant l\u00e4t meddela att tavlan inte \u00e4r \u00e4kta. Senare i programmet presenterades en kort skriftlig motivering till handlandet: &#8221;Det \u00e4r inte en fr\u00e5ga om proveniens, utan en fr\u00e5ga om konn\u00e4s\u00f6rskap. Stora pengar \u00e4r involverade. Auktionsverk vill leverera s\u00e4kra investeringar till sina pengastinna kunder. Vad sedan sanningen \u00e4r, \u00e4r ingen intresserad av. Samma sak med bra och d\u00e5lig konst. Har en tillr\u00e4ckligt m\u00e4ktig konstexpert uttalat sig i positiv bem\u00e4rkelse om din konst, d\u00e5 \u00e4r den bra, annars inte. Based on Miedl&#8217;s confession, the painting was traced back to van Meegeren. On 29 May 1945, he was arrested and charged with fraud and aiding and abetting the enemy. He was remanded to Weteringschans prison. As an alleged Nazi collaborator and plunderer of Dutch cultural property, van Meegeren was threatened by the authorities with extensive prison time. Faced with these bleak choices, and after spending three days in jail, he confessed to forging paintings attributed to Vermeer and Pieter de Hooch. He exclaimed, &#8221;The painting in G\u00f6ring\u2019s hands is not, as you assume, a Vermeer of Delft, but a Van Meegeren! I painted the picture!&#8221; It took some time to verify this and for several months he was detained in the Headquarters of the Military Command at Herengracht 468 in Amsterdam. Between July and about November\/December 1945, and in the presence of reporters and court-appointed witnesses, he painted his last forgery, of Jesus among the Doctors, also called Young Christ in the Temple in the style of Vermeer. After the trial painting was finished, he was transferred to the fortress prison Blauwkapel. Van Meegeren was released from prison in January or February 1946. Firman grundades av Nathan Wildenstein, som till en b\u00f6rjan mest sysslade med boskapshandel, men s\u00f6nerna och sons\u00f6nerna \u00f6vergick mer till konst och antikviteter, fr\u00e4mst franska m\u00e5lare, vilka p\u00e5 1800-talet var l\u00e5gt v\u00e4rderade. Nathan Wildenstein flydde undan den tyska ockupationen fr\u00e5n Alsace till Paris, men i boken &#8221;The Lost Museum&#8221; beskriver f\u00f6rfattaren Hector Feliciano hur firma Wildenstein under George Wildenstein fortsatte att g\u00f6ra lukrativa aff\u00e4rer med nazisterna p\u00e5 40-talet. Familjen Wildenstein f\u00f6rlorade en r\u00e4tteg\u00e5ng om \u00e4rekr\u00e4nkning mot f\u00f6rfattaren. Varf\u00f6r \u00e4r inte ett verk, som inte ens en expert kan skilja fr\u00e5n \u00e4kta vara, betraktat som kvalitativ konst, om den inte \u00e4r \u00e4kta? Vad \u00e4r det som g\u00f6r konsten? \u00c4r det namnet? Hur \u00e4nkan till Daniel Wildenstein, Sylvia, har l\u00e4mnat in en st\u00e4mningsans\u00f6kan d\u00e4r hon h\u00e4vdar att franska skattemyndigheterna g\u00f6r ingenting \u00e5t uppgifterna hon l\u00e4mnat in om stora konstskatter som g\u00f6mts undan i skatteparadis, fr\u00e4mst av hennes styvson, &#8221;mon ami Guy&#8221;. Hon menar att detta beror p\u00e5 president Sarkozys n\u00e4ra kopplingar till Guy, som ing\u00e5r i dennes innersta krets och \u00e4r en stor donator till hans parti UMP. Sylvia Wildenstein har r\u00e4tt till h\u00e4lften av sin bortg\u00e5ngne makes f\u00f6rm\u00f6genhet, som nu inte kan g\u00f6ras anspr\u00e5k p\u00e5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alec Wildenstein var tidigare gift med Jocelyne Wildenstein, k\u00e4nt societetslejon i New York. Han p\u00e5st\u00e5s ha drivit henne till att g\u00f6ra de groteska sk\u00f6nhetsoperationerna som gjort henne k\u00e4nd som &#8221;kattkvinnan&#8221;.
